VyprVPN 3.0 Comes With Major App Redesign

0

VyprVPN is working on a major redesign of its VPN apps for all platforms called VyprVPN 3.0. The first release happened already in June on the iOS platform. Other platforms should be released later. What's exactly changing? Not much, to be honest, as the new version is primarily about the app design and not features.

The main reason why the company started the overall redesign is missing consistency. According to the feedback of their users, the app experience on mobile devices was completely different from the on desktop, for example. On the other hand, the thing users value most on VyprVPN is the ease-of-use.

VyprVPN Comes With Major App Redesign

Besides the app consistency the VyprVPN 3.0 also brings the following improvements:

  • Overall app performance is faster and more secure
  • Locating and selecting VPN server is smoother
  • Overall product design improvements including app clutter cleanup

As of today, the new version has been released only for the iOS platform. VyprVPN website also still presents the old app screenshots.

We have tested the iOS version and have to admit it's pretty slick and feels very fast. The menu has been simplified to three main items – customize, connection, and servers. Overall, the app is very intuitive and looking nice. We are looking forward to testing out the app on other platforms when available.

Unfortunately, the new version doesn't seem to be addressing some of the missing points we have found during our VyprVPN review.

About VyprVPN

VyprVPN is a reliable VPN from Switzerland also known as the Golden Frog. The product scored a solid 74% in our independent test review. It offers a good level of security, but it's quite pricey as it starts at $12.95 per month. But you can take advantage of the free 3-day trial version.

VyprVPN product is available on all major platforms including Windows, macOS, Android, iOS but also for Routers and TVs.
